So, following yesterday’s ’scene setting’ Camp Bestival post we now have some style insight for you.
In between the fairytale themed fancy dressing up, we managed to spot some great looks at Camp Bestival. It was a mixture of festival standards- great denim shorts, pretty pattern and we were particularly impressed with the boys who pushed the boat out too (mostly embracing their inner rock star or ladylike side!). Its an excuse to cut loose and go for bright colour, eclectic layers, theatrical make up and something a little more extreme than your everyday. If only your Monday to Friday wardrobe looked like this, wouldn’t the office be a far more inspirational and exciting place to be?

On Saturday 24th a few of our coolest “Blinkettes” headed down to the 1234 festival in Shoreditch. This fringe festival played host to over 40 bands and DJ collectives across four stages so there was plenty of choice in this years line up which features names like Rolo Tomassi, Dum Dum Girls, These New Puritans and Kids on Bridges- as well as inimitable Peter Hook. We think it was well worth the £20 ticket price to have this kind of festival feeling right on our doorstep.
As anticipated from the location, it was a brilliant place to style spot, with the achingly cool East London crowd rocking their best ‘laissez faire’ looks (we know you were all secretly planning your outfits for days, but don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone). There was lots of 90’s grunge- high waisted denim cut offs with DM’s and dark lipstick. Very Alice Dellal/ Courtney Love. We also spotted a few vintage romantics- bowler hats, ankle sock, boots and vintage ‘dress up’. Last but not least, the usual festival classics- that timeless Boho rock chick in floaty dresses with biker boots, antique jewelery, tousled locks and pouch bags.
Here’s a few of our favourite shots for you, and there’s more to follow over the next couple of days! Thanks to Amy and Jessica for the great work.

Its a look that we have featured previously, in various seasons. Its a sure fire winner from a style and a commercial perspective- so whether you are a fashion lover of a fashion brand, this is one for you.
The joy of black and white. Its a timeless combination that’s sure fire stylishly spot on. We have been stashing these streetstyle shots for the last few weeks. Its shows the variety of looks that work within this palette, from wonderfully historical to super flirty, stopping off at graphically sporty along the way.

Last night we were all gathered in the courtyard of Somerset House to see the genius XX as part of the ‘Summer Series’ of gigs. Temper Trap had rave reviews for their gig the night before and on the nights ahead the venue plays host to Gil Scott-Heron, Florence and the Machine and Soul II Soul, amongst others.
Before for the gig last night, the clouds gathered and a smattering of rain fell. Somerset House looks beautiful under any circumstances, but my hairdo does not. Up came the brollies and the festival ‘whatever the weather’ spirit kicked in. This was my first time seeing these guys live and I was not disappointed. The moody lighting and amazing sound was enhanced by the beauty of the location as the rain thankfully faded away.
The hauntingly melodious voice of female vocalist, Romy Madley-Croft, made me think of Tracey Thorn from Everything but the Girl. I think this trip down an 80’s Memory Lane was also bought on by the male vocalist, Oliver Sim, whose slinky moves and guitar stance was like a smoothed out version of Joe Strummer, mixed in with bit of earnest late 80’s indie. These two both on guitar, along with Jamie Smith on keyboards and drums, created a stunningly atmospheric sound.
Hopefully we might have some coverage from the Florence gig for you too, and some great festival stuff to come.

Its been a glorious couple of weeks and so Londoners have been donning a stunning selection of sunnies to complete their Summery outfits. The newest look seems to to be a Chanel influenced rounded style, but the classic Ray Ban Aviator or Wayfarer is still a good option. Here are some streetstyle shots that we have collected over the past sunny weeks around town featuring some great shady action. We’ve also dropped in a couple of stylish spec wearers too, just because they looked too cool to be left out! Enjoy…

The first Thursday of every month the galleries of East London’s Vyner Street open their doors for an evening of browsing, mooching and possibly even purchasing! We hadn’t been over this way since December so thought it was a good opportunity to get back and see whats going on.
From around 5pm until late you can wander around and enjoy a diverse selection of art across the multitude of galleries set conveniently side by side in what has been coined London’s Contemporary Art District. The galleries on Vyner Street are all showing young, innovative, international artists. The small street gradually filled up with a stylishly, arty crowd as the evening wore on. Beside the attraction of the cultural fix, it’s a good place to hang out over a cheap beer with friends.
The next First Thursday will be on the 3rd of June. By then we should have lots of sunshine so it could be a great way to spend a warm summer evening. We’ll see you there…

Well, we have finally been blessed with some sun shiny days, regardless of the fact that we are shrouded in a cloud of volcanic ash (can someone explain to me how that works?!?). As the temperatures rose, not a moment was wasted in making the most of the opportunity from a style perspective. It seemed that folks had been prepared for this, with a fabulous spring outfit laid out by the bed awaiting the right weather forecast.
Our resident style-searching girl about town, Asta, headed out to capture some of the Spring looks and came back with some great shots, so here are a bunch showing how to perfectly transition into a warmer weather outfit with colour pops, layering, denim and accessories.
These images will be featured alongside many more in our May reports. Contact your nearest agent if you’d like to know more.

This is our first foray into snooping. Not just any old snooping, and certainly not stalking. This is our new blog feature that allows us a beaky look into some very cool wardrobes. Our first victim is Tilly Shiner. She’s studying Fine Art at Central St Martins and is also a member of the “Blink” team. Thanks Tilly!
Most worn of Winter 2009: was a pair of great chunky forest green suede boots – kept my feet warm and looked fab! (charity shop present from my housemate).
Best buy of Winter 2009: was a vintage gray cape I bought in Paris (Free p Star). Grey with black and white check sleeve and collar- simple and chic!
This Spring I’m looking forward to buying: a long floral dress this spring to get some colour back in my wardrobe. I’ll also be looking out for some super feminine lacy numbers, for a bit of nymphet style!
My personal style is: usually based around contrasts- hard and soft, geeky and sexy, girly and macho! This is a great way of evening out more extravagant or unusual pieces. Charity shops are my staple diet!
If money was no object: I would wear Christopher Kane and PPQ for their lovely prints and dresses (keeping it British!). I would probably splash out on some decadent Alexander McQueen too.
My current style icon is: Milla Jovovich in The Fifth Element – weird but effortlessly cool.

Sorry for the delay in bringing you this post, but we thought you’d want to get London Fashion Week out of the way before we moved on to other subjects…
So, back to another festival. This time its the turn of the ‘Offset Festival’. Our intrepid “Blink” reported, Tilly, brought us back this great coverage. This festival is located in Hainault Forest, just outside of London but the beautiful forest location feels a million miles away from city life. This is quite an alternative event, with true rock festival roots and a brilliant line-up. Nothing fluffy or pop about it, but not too earnest either.
Here are some great looks from the festival goers. There is something very creative going on here. We love how these people have totally bucked traditional festival outfits for something almost more intellectual and definitely more chic. Inspiring.

Latitude has a very friendly, creative atmosphere that draws eccentric fans of theatre, poetry, music and comedy. Set in beautiful surroundings of fields and woods it features pink sheep, gondolas and a stage in the middle of the lake! The crowd were also on the creative or artistic side in their style choices. We love the really personal looks and the cute vintage styling.
Thanks to our brilliant “Blink” correspondent, Louise, for her coverage of this event.
