And there’s more from Little London Fields! We could have posted it all in one big mega post, but that might just have been too much information and we would hate for you to miss out on any of the finer details captured in these shots.
We hope that you have enjoyed our posts so far this week. We have decided that today and tomorrow will be accessories days. As we noted in the first post on Monday, the details are what make an outfit absolutely your own look. We saw some stunning attention to detail on the fastidiously stylish folk at Little London Fields and today we start at the bottom with a shoe focused post. Its a mixed bag, with the overarching theme being a personal take on what functional style means for each individual and the look they chose to project that day. Don’t underestimate the importance of the sock choice or the pedi colour either. Details are never mere details when it comes to accessories…
Enjoy, and if you’d like to see more accessories, why not contact your nearest “Blink” agent and ask to have a look at our quarterly ‘Accessories’ report?

And last but not least from our style spotting bonanza at the 1234 festival, we have an accessories focused post. Its one that takes me down memory lane..
We’ve been spotting the odd crepe soled shoe, otherwise known as ‘brothel creepers’ or ‘beetle crushers’, on some cool boys and few girls around town, but Saturday’s event sealed this shoe styles ascent back into fashion consciousness. We have also been aware of Dr Martens coming through again, but have felt a little unconvinced- again, until Saturday. You girls know how to rock a manly shoe with style and panache!
I lived in a much loved pair of crepe soled shoes when I was doing my Art foundation many moons ago (suffice to say that it was the late 80’s!). I can even remember buying them on Floral Street in Covent Garden. Was there a Rokit store there then, opposite Jones? I thought I looked so cool in them with my Dicky Dirts dungarees, a pair of Paul Smith silk boxer shorts and a vintage bustier. I must look out a photo… or maybe not!

Fringing was a look that was super hot in the Summer or 2009, so we were surprised to see this being taken up again for High Summer 2010, and right across the fashion landscape too. Less so in shoes and boots this time around, but fringes and haberdashery or brogue inspired tassels on bags look very cool.

We were passing by Liberty, peering in the windows as usual, contemplating what we were going to score at the Summer sale preview when we were utterly distracted by this stunning piece of shoe art, shoes, art… Well, whether this is about the shoes or the stunning vintage Liberty Art Fabrics ‘Bounty’ and ‘Santa Maria’ prints, its a winning combination.
We have long admired the work of Mr Kirkwood, and this collaboration as part of Liberty’s year long Flower Power event, has resulted in a three piece collection of limited edition, foot oriented joy.
So, plans to have a spend up in the sale went out of the window, and instead we started working out a crack pot scheme that would result in imminent ownership of the stunning Bounty Platform sandal…

Another insight from our recently published Summer “Accessories” report for you. Yes, we are happy to admit that we have a shoe obsession. We are girls after all. What’s not to love about the thing that always fits you regardless of how many cheeky cocktails you scoffed at the weekend? What’s not to adore about the thing that can transform your legs and bum into a mincing vision of delight? Need we go on? Right, now back to the job in hand…
Its still about super high heeled shoes, and the wedge is a sure fire way to get into the zone without teetering on a skinny stilly style heel. There are many ways to approach the wedge, from a homely looking cloggy wooden wedge to a fashion fabulous Kirkwood inspired built up sole. Here are some of our favourites spotted around town over the last few months. We’re sure there’s one for just about everyone. So what’s your wedge?

We’ve just finished pulling together the Summer edition of our quarterly “Accessories” report and wanted to share some highlights with you. Its a HUGE report stuffed full of great inspiration for all aspects of accessories and there are some really clear themes coming through, criss-crossing all levels of fashion brand.
There are still plenty of studs and fringing. We’re still loving a haberdashery trimmed scarf. Bags go from super shoppers to minuscule and super cute. Necklaces are still neckline hugging and super chunky or sweet, delicate and full of vintage inspired charms. Global is a big direction, looking great in really decorative and embellished shoes and bags. Mixed materials are a really hot trend, adding definition and texture.
The look we have decided to share with you today is a rather sweet one. We do love a pretty bow, and there were plenty of options to choose from. This motif instantly adds a girly appeal, with a retro or refined edge its a commercial winner. Whether a bag, shoe or belt its a really flexible and decorative as well as functional addition.

As you may have spotted on Twitter, we recently took a quickie Easter break and headed over to Toronto for a few days. It was a really lovely mix of something and nothing, and the something was mainly shopping. Well, why break the habit of a lifetime?!?
The best bit of retail therapy had to be the final stop of our fleeting visit. We popped into ‘Gadabout’, hailed as the best vintage clothes store in all of Toronto, where we picked up a few choice pieces including these excellent Calvin Klein two tone flatties. Only slightly pre-loved and just perfect to rock with a pair of 7/8ths as we head into Summer. The store and its gorgeous contents are not the only inspiration to be found there. We were also entranced by the perfect vintage but ‘oh so now’ look of the proprietress, who kindly stopped for a mo so that we could take a snap of her.

Creating the perfect balance of utility and sportiness, the lace up shoe boot looks perfect for right now, and with all the equestrian inspired looks from the Autumn shows we think it’s a look with legs! We intend investing in a really cute crepe soled pair from River Island, as well as a super sexy platform style we’ve seen from Topshop.
The fashionistas at London Fashion Week were all over this already. Surprised? Uhm, that’ll be a resounding “No”. Its a great look, taking inspiration from the lace up brogue, ankle boot, desert boots and the super influential Balenciaga ‘hiking boot’ to create the perfect style completer.

The London Fashion Week crowd voted with their feet. It was high and fancy as far as footwear was concerned. Last fashion week it was all about the wedged ankle boot, preferably with a peep toe, and that was still out there, but no sign of the midi heel that the style mags have been promoting.
We particularly love these two tone designs. Mixing tonal or contrasting colour, matte and sheen texture, brogue inspired detailing and you have the recipe for a winner.

Our brilliant “Blink” contributor, Amy, came back with these shots from a recent trip to Brighton, our favourite seaside fashion destination. The androgynous look in accessories, kicked off by the classic brogue last Autumn, is still going strong. These shoes look a little softer and a little lighter, closer to a classic ‘Jazz shoe’ than previously seen. We particularly love the bi-colour ‘Correspondent’ style look. These are truly fabulous flatties.
