We kicked off our Wilderness festival coverage yesterday with a #MusicMonday dedicated to the headliners, London Grammar. Now we look at some of the super stylish people who were partying with us at this very beautiful festival. The high street may try to deliver a festival ‘look’ and we’ve seen so much of that from all levels of brands this Spring Summer, but to be honest the only place you will really be able to buy into the newest variation of the festival look is at the festivals themselves.
Wilderness was a veritable feast of fabulous shopping opportunities. Well, it saves you lugging it all down there with you yourself! The high street can really only deliver what has kind of always worked around this theme, but if you’ve had enough of a rehashed hippy Woodstock 60’s vibe then Wilderness provided lots of wonderful alternatives.
The flower crown was still there but feathered headdresses and lots of variations on animal ears looked more innovative. Those denim cut off hot pants were replaced by brilliantly patterned, metallic or sequinned leggings (watch out for our post from Rosa Bloom). Onesies in jersey were replaced by much softer, easier and more stylish versions in washed cotton poplin (watch out for our post on Humphries and Begg). Leotards looked fabulous as did swimsuits replacing tops.
If you in any doubt of which way to take your festi look, let us just say that sequins were the order of the day in every way, shape or form and even impacted on festi makeup which was all about sparkles, and the more graphic and intense, the better, so if you’re not quite ready for a full on sequinned, top to toe statement then maybe just some sparkles around your eyes will do it for you.
