One of my favourite fashion moments is when I come across a look that I love and it’s from a label that I don’t know. This is just what happened with Delpozo and their SS’15 show. I’m thinking that if this label is news to me, then it might be news to some of you too.
Delpozo is actually a Spanish label with a long and illustrious history founded in the 70’s by Jesús del Pozo. After his death in 2011, Josep Font stepped in as the brand’s new Creative Director. Since then he has established a new fashion fan base, a new aesthetic and new international success for Delpozo. The SS’15 collection is innovatively beautiful, exploring form and density, decoration and minimalism. I think that you can see Font’s interest in architecture in the beautifully sculptural shapes. There is also an undeniably Spanish feel to this Madrid based label which feels similar in form to vintage Balenciaga and perhaps a little reflective of Miro and Gaudi too.
Here are some of our favourite looks from the SS’15 collection, with thanks to Style.com. We think that the blend of textiles, silhouette, embellishment and colour is deliciously fresh and exciting.
