Following from yesterday’s tangent off in to a look at Weiner Werkstatte, I hope you can tell where we were coming from when you see our London Fashion Week show reviews. Here’s our picks from Mary Katrantzou‘s show. She was also in our post summing up the overall mood of LFW. That’s because her innovation level is turned up to ten right now.
Mary K established herself as the digital print Queen over her initial collections, and now that her audience is established it’s perfect that she should evolve beyond flat surface effects into something far more 3D. From the catwalk itself to the accessories to stunning detailing on the beautifully crafted, intensely detailed garments themselves, this collection was a study in tactility and geometry. Katrantzou artfully blends complete modernity with a historical feel reflected in the silhouettes and pattern motifs.
