I first came across Stephen Jones millinery at the very beginning of my fashion career, working as a general dogsbody/ assistant designer/ PA at Whistles, aged 21 and fresh from graduating. I have always been a fan of a charming chapeau and so when I saw his collection for the first time, it was love at first sight. I have been an ardent Stephen Jones fan ever since, and constantly on the look out for a good excuse to invest in one of his designs.
Spotting the Stephen Jones stand in the Designer Showrooms is always one of my LFW highlights and this time around my secret could no longer be kept and I probably scared the bejesus out of the Stephen Jones ladies with my tales of unrequited hat love. Annika Lievesley, the brands Press Manager looked stunning in her spangled new season style, and she very kindly talked me though the wedding styles, mainline looks and the Miss Jones collection.
She also chose a Miss Jones style for me to try on. I half joked about making a run for it, but I was wearing big heels so escape avec hat would have been nigh on impossible!
Thank you Stephen Jones ladies for humouring me, being utterly charming and for allowing me a moment of hat based joy. Unless they have taken out a restraining order I hope to be able to interview Stephen in the near future and will be sharing that with you all as soon as I can.
