Great timing to share this with you as these are the perfect prep for an excellent Valentine’s pout, as well as helping you with the post Valentine’s chapped lips if you manage to score lots of good snogging!
I must thank my lovely fashion protégé, Amy, who brought these gorgeous Maybelline Baby Lips lip balms to my attention as well as helping me capture the perfect shot of them.
Maybelline Baby Lips
At a couple of quid each (we picked ours up at Boots) these are a steal for sure. The formulation is smooth and super moisturizing, yet light. Each brilliantly bright colour tube has a different scent, and most with a slight hint of a tint. I love the graphic styling with it’s cool 80’s vibe, and I love their sweet smells that bring to mind those bonkers novelty scented rubbers (erasers to our American friends) that were all the rage in my school days. That’s a few quid well spent on a product that works, as well as a cheap ticket for a trip down memory lane.
So, following yesterday’s ‘scene setting’ Camp Bestival post we now have some style insight for you.
In between the fairytale themed fancy dressing up, we managed to spot some great looks at Camp Bestival. It was a mixture of festival standards- great denim shorts, pretty pattern and we were particularly impressed with the boys who pushed the boat out too (mostly embracing their inner rock star or ladylike side!). Its an excuse to cut loose and go for bright colour, eclectic layers, theatrical make up and something a little more extreme than your everyday. If only your Monday to Friday wardrobe looked like this, wouldn’t the office be a far more inspirational and exciting place to be?
Here’s a biggy. Deep breath. Are you sitting down? Okay…
Here at “Blink” we think that the 60’s are going to be the new 80’s!
Yes, the next style era that will be plundered, replicated, referenced and re-lived will be the ‘Swinging Sixties’. This may well bring a sigh of relief for many of you who have pretty much exhausted all of the inspiration that the Eighties could provide. It’s been feeling right for us for some time now, and the momentum is building- as is our urge to wear Chelsea boots! When we went to see ‘An Education’ the other week, it sealed the deal. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, do see it. From a style perspective it’s faultless- even if the story seems to run out of steam 3/4’s of the way through.
We were flicking through some family snaps the other day and came across the perfect (if self indulgent) way to illustrate this mood. Here are some inspiring pictures from a very significant event in 1964. These are from the engagement party of Blink’s very stylish parents. Without this event, “Blink” wouldn’t even exist!
