“Blink” Events: ‘Do Your Bit with a Knit’ for Save the Children

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014

Atterley Road have come up with an inspiringly fashionable way to raise some money for Save the Children while spreading knit based joy.

The super stylish Atterley Road team have joined up one of our favourite knitwear labels, Wool and the Gang to ‘make the world better with a sweater’  by hosting a Secret Jumper Sale. These are no ordinary jumpers. These are in fact over 30 unique, hand-knitted Christmas jumpers which have been created by an impressive and exciting list of British fashion talent (Jonathan Saunders, Mary Katrantzou, Mother of Pearl, Lyle and Scott, David Koma, Giles Deacon and Sibling to name but a few) as well as some current and former students from the London College of Fashion.  The big Christmas secret, and the part which we love the best, is that you won’t know who designed your jumper until you receive it!

The sale starts at 9am sharp on 3rd December (that’s tomorrow!) with just one limited edition of each jumper available.  Each jumper costs £99, with every penny going to Save the Children. It’s a knitted win-win situation.

To can see more about ‘Do Your Bit with a Knit’ as well as shots of the jumpers on Atterley Road’s blog right here. We’ll see you at 9am tomorrow, virtually obviously!

“Blink” Events: aMUSE magazine launches today

Monday, April 30th, 2012

London ladies will have a new free yet fabulous fashion oriented magazine to choose from as of today.

aMUSE is a new monthly glossy fashion magazine that looks like it might be competition to the magazines you currently pay for, and we think that the Stylist should be feeling slightly concerned too. Focused on fashion but also including beauty, lifestyle and culture, “We will give our readers the inside track on everything they need to buy today, book for tomorrow, know about now, and namedrop tonight plus some gorgeous visual treats along the way.” says Sasha Slater, Editor of aMUSE (formerly of The Times and ES Magazine), and they have a staff of highly experienced names to back up that promise, as well as lots of high profile contributors including Sadie Frost and Iris Law, who will be the magazine’s mother-and-daughter columnists each month; interior designer Kelly Hoppen and fashion designers David Koma and Alessandra Rich.

Jade Williams (Sunday Girl, DJ/model) and Zara Martin (in bunny masks!) - both interviewed in the launch issue.

London Fashion Week: BFC’s NEWGEN

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

We always look forward to hitting the terrace at Somerset House during London Fashion Week. This is where you find the mini village of designers selected by the British Fashion Council as this season’s New Generation of emerging creative talent. There are often some names that we have already fallen in love with, admired and been inspired by- but there is guaranteed to be some exciting new names to add to our fashion lexicon too.

As we walked into the NEWGEN space the foyer was dedicated to a melange of mood boards from all of the designers showing in this space. We are a big fan of the mood board and how brilliantly it can give you an insight into the journey the designer has taken to arrive at their new season direction. Here are some shots of the mood boards for you, along with some collection shots from the exhibition. There will be more to come from NEWGEN as we are harassing a couple of the brands for interviews and we’ll also be featuring more from one of our eternal favourites, Felicity Brown.

Blink Discoveries- David Koma

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

We spotted these amazing dresses in the window of Browns Focus and were intrigued to more about their creator, David Koma.

David Koma graduated from Central Saint Martins in March 2009. His graduate collection of beautifully detailed body con styles has to be one of the most accomplished that we have seen for some time. We think this will be a name on ever fashion insiders wish list. We’re really excited to see how his style progresses over the season’s ahead.
