“Blink” Retail: Isabel Marant pour H&M

Yes, we were whipped into a fashion frenzy and joined the scrum at H&M this morning as well as getting RSI trying repeatedly (excessively and yet unsuccessfully) to get onto the website. I have to say that I succumbed to the excitement and experienced a fashion buzz, the like of which I have not felt for a very long time. Make no mistake, this was an EVENT. Yes, I did mean to shout that… Probably still a bit pumped…

I am a die hard, Isabel Marant fan. I wish I had the shopping budget to match my passionate dedication to the label, but as I’m sure I’m not the only one to notice, even the Etoile line has hoicked up in price season on season. Therefore this was a collaboration with super-duper levels of excitement and expectation around it (well, the Margiela collection was incredibly so close to the labels true handwriting the bar had been set high).

I hit the men’s section for the coats and sweats as well as shopping the womenswear collection, and made purchases from both. I can vouch for the fact that this is a collection that completely embraces the things that we love about Marant’s work. The dresses are 100% silk and designed with consideration to the use of print, precious trims and silhouette (very much the Isabel Marant cut). The coat that I bought is 100% wool in really lovely dense felted finish, and lined in a warmly quilted finish. Actually for me this is cozier and a better fit than the P coat I tried on from her mainline, own label collection.

All in all, congratulations to H&M for another brilliantly executed hook up, true to the collaborating designer’s aesthetic. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, even if my bank account is feeling a little pain…

“Blink” Retail: Isabel Marant x H&M= Fashion wishes coming true!

Wwwwhhhhhhooooooaaaaaaaaaa. My fashion prayers have been answered! It’s a tough fashion life when you have champagne taste but a beer budget (oh the glamour of running your own business!). Well, it was a tough call until H&M introduced their genius fashion collaborations.

The designer who’s collection I, season after season, lust after the most is that of Isabel Marant. Can you imagine how excited I was this morning to wake up to an email from H&M announcing that its autumn collaboration is this very Parisian designer! With her effortless, urban yet boho chic style, Isabel Marant has single handedly changed our perception of French fashion as well as created trends imitated by the whole fashion high street.

Put 14th November in your diary with multiple reminders, alarms and extra post it notes just to be sure, as this is the launch date for this collection in around 250 stores worldwide and online, the collection features clothing and accessories for women and teenagers. Isabel Marant will also, for the first time, create a collection for men.
