After ‘Metallics’ and ‘Gothic’, last night at Westfield London, we spotted a couple of great ‘Print’ looks, working a strongly digital, graphic, photo realistic or linear feel. Many of the new crop of brilliant London based Designers have a very strongly print driven handwriting, so it’s great to see this translating in to streetstyle.

Did you read our post about the Louis Vuitton Kusama Concept Store at Selfridges a little while back? I hope you entered the competition!
Louis Vuitton have unveiled an amazing take-over of Selfridges’ windows, as well as turning the Concept Store space into a mini Louis Vuitton store filled with the spotty gorgeousness of their collection created in collaboration with Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama. This is a super duper spot overload, and we love it… well, most of it. I have to say I was quite disturbed by the lifelike appearance of the life size wax models of Kusama in the corner window installation!

We are really keen on the new global traveller mood coming through as the Summer deliveries start to drop. Paisleys have already been centre stage thanks to the spotlight on pyjama inspired looks (another thanks to Stella McCartney for that) and this has extended to incorporate ikat and tile inspired designs too. Whether intricate and complex or simplified and bold, we really like where this is heading.

The other collection that has caught my eye from all of the great Resort and early Spring drops, is the fabulously fluorescent Christopher Kane collection. Loving his work with J Brand too. This is another collection that fills me with joy, just like the Stella looks we shared with you a little earlier. I think it’s to do with the energy packed in to the pattern and colour combinations. The shapes are graphically simple, allowing the focal point to the be the surface detail, be that the eye popping solid shades or the wonderful rainbow hued print and pattern. The high sheen silver additions add a whole new level of excitement too.

There are two collections out there right now that, for me, are just like rays of fashion sunshine. Let me share them with you one by one, just to stretch the uplifting effects out a bit.
Firstly lets look at Stella‘s amazing resort collection. I do also love what’s to come when the Spring proper collection drops in fully, but until that point my fantasy shopping list is stuffed with these influential and inspirational looks. Loving the reflected style of the print. Adoring the colour and pattern combinations. I want to actually disappear into that palm fringed scene, but in lieu of that, slipping one of these looks on would do very nicely.

If you needed some help with how to pull together this Spring’s tricky pattern clash look, Topshop very kindly provided some inspired guidance in their Oxford Circus windows. Looking amazingly upbeat and energetic, we want some of this NOW!
