“Blink” Retail: J’adore Dior SS’14

Tuesday, April 8th, 2014

Dior brings the amazing flora draped set of the SS’14 show to their windows. Such a fabulous show. Such a stunning collection. And now one of the most beautiful window schemes that we’ve seen in some time.

Here’s the video of the SS’14 show so you can appreciate the atmosphere of the show space, as well as this amazing collection. We are huge Raf Simons fans. How he combines the handwriting of Dior with his own aesthetic, plus ensuring it feels utterly innovative and current, is a design dream come true.

“Blink” Retail: H&M gets Sporty

Friday, July 27th, 2012

A very smart window scheme choice from H&M, from two perspectives. Firstly The London Olympics launch today, just in case you’d missed that little bit of information! We’ve all gone a little sporting mad, and even though we were missing the Olympic spirit in the “Blink” office for a while, I have to say that the excitement has now truly taken hold. Come on Team GB!

The second good reason for this window scheme is H&M’s very well timed launch of their ‘Sports’ collection- although none of the mannequins actually seem to be wearing it, which is a little bit of an oversight we think. Cool windows none the less.

“Blink” retail: Fabergé

Friday, January 27th, 2012

The Fabergé store opened on Grafton Street in November last year, and we have wondered past on many occasions, heading to Dover Street Market and Acne for a fashion fix. Last week, we stopped to have a closer look in the tiny windows of this very purple shop, and we were amazed by the gorgeous displays. Not only were all of the diamonds completely dazzling, it was also the way that the jewellery had been displayed that caught our eye. Don’t you just love all of the stunning, vintage looking dolls house furniture and props that they have used? Oh, and that bracelet in the middle shot. Those are the kind of mini eggs we’d like to get this Easter…

Blink Retail: Louis Vuitton’s beautiful bag explosion

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

If you have been patiently waiting since we tweeted about spotting this on Monday, we do apologize for the wait and hope you think it was worth holding out for! On our usual retail researching jaunt down Sloane Street, we always know that there will be a visual treat or two.

I have to say that this LV store rarely disappoints. It may not have the moving parts and bright lights of its Bond Street sister, but it manages to impress never the less. The VM team (who are you? Please drop us a line to say ‘Hi’!) work the space that they have to really great effect. These dandelion style explosions of LV symbols is just delicious, framing the utterly delectable bags in a sunshiney halo. Then there’s the melting, super sheeny platform, which then seems to drip drop into a molten puddle below. I don’t really know what the symbolic meaning of it all is, but I do know that I like it. A lot.
