“Blink” New Designers: Sister by Sibling, SS’13

Thursday, January 10th, 2013

We have held on to a few shots from LFW, to drop them in when we need a bit of a ray of sunshine, as well as when it feels like it’s kind of the right time to share. Well, it may seem like mid Winter in the real world, but as far as fashion is concerned, it’s Spring already and has been for some time. From what we saw at London Fashion Week, as well as letching at all the wonderful show coverage from sites like Style.com, SS’13 is looking to be an exciting, optimistic and colourful season with some tongue in cheek fun thrown in- especially from some of the newer names in the British fashion world.

A perfect example of this wonderful British sense of fun and fabulousness is the Sister by Sibling team who’s collection focuses on some really great knitwear. To top off the ‘Toile de Jouy’ printed looks, floral, fringed, skull and strip knit designs they created the most amazing, mega scale ‘afro puff’ style, double pom pom topped hats. That is an ear to ear grin distilled in to millinery if ever I saw it.

“Blink” London Fashion Week: Sister by Sibling

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

One of our favourite NEWGEN collection presentations was by Sister by Sibling, the recent womenswear collection addition to the menswear line, Sibling. Yes, the AW’12 catwalk collection was fabulous, but we think these doll sized versions are almost even more fantastic.

London Fashion Week: BFC’s NEWGEN

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

We always look forward to hitting the terrace at Somerset House during London Fashion Week. This is where you find the mini village of designers selected by the British Fashion Council as this season’s New Generation of emerging creative talent. There are often some names that we have already fallen in love with, admired and been inspired by- but there is guaranteed to be some exciting new names to add to our fashion lexicon too.

As we walked into the NEWGEN space the foyer was dedicated to a melange of mood boards from all of the designers showing in this space. We are a big fan of the mood board and how brilliantly it can give you an insight into the journey the designer has taken to arrive at their new season direction. Here are some shots of the mood boards for you, along with some collection shots from the exhibition. There will be more to come from NEWGEN as we are harassing a couple of the brands for interviews and we’ll also be featuring more from one of our eternal favourites, Felicity Brown.
