Copenhagen Fashion Week is no longer just called Copenhagen Fashion Week. With tourists and Copenhageners invited to join in by attending ‘The Worlds Greatest Catwalk’ event and other shows embracing a more open and public friendly stance, it is now also known as the Copenhagen Fashion Festival.
On August 14th, Danish underground DJ, Djuna Barnes delivered colorful and upbeat music whilst more than 200 models, celebrities, babies and ballet dancers began the 1.6 km long walk along the hot pink catwalk, creating a new world record! Starting at Rådhuspladsen down Copenhagen’s biggest shopping street ‘Strøget’ and ending in Kgs. Nytorv, this event showcased Danish and Scandinavian SS’11 collections in a really celebratory way. Forever supermodel and great Dane, Helena Christensen was the hostess for this event and several shops in Central Copenhagen donated 1% of the days income to Chernobyl Children’s project International.
