Until 12th June, Selfridges is partnering with more than 20 environmental and conservation groups to highlight the plight of our over-fished seas. They have dedicated all windows to this campaign, featuring Katherine Hamnett designed statement T’s, towels and tote bags. In-store you can find the ‘Selfridges Fish Guide’ which helps to highlight which fish to avoid eating, suggesting great replacements and Selfridges have also stated that they are selling no endangered fish in their foodhall or restaurants. There are loads of fun and educational events in-store everyday of the event- we’re signing up for anything to do with the brilliant Hix team!
Selfridges are raising money for the Zoological Society of London to create marine reserves, and have committed to setting up a new reserve in the Philippines. You can help Project Ocean by buying the cool, exclusive Project Ocean products or by making a donation. There’s an amazing interactive window where you can pledge your donation, or simply text OCEAN + your name to 70050 to donate £3 to the appeal. We think this is a wonderful statement from one of London’s most prestigious stores and we hope that other retailers will follow suit.
Well done Selfridges and we wish you huge success with the campaign! Oh, and having very cute boys to hand out leaflets is a very smart move..
