So far September’s been a fabulously hectic time. It’s the month of Fashion Weeks, retailing trips and the final festivals. All this activity gets our creative juices flowing and we feel stuffed full of inspiration and excitement. A fair few of our most exciting moments came during our trip to Paris last week. The City of Light did not disappoint.
Paris is generally a gentile city that moves forward at a more subtle pace than some other fashion hubs, but this trip we were delighted to discover some exciting new additions to the roster. Firstly was our hotel. We stayed at the uber cool Mama Shelter, a Starck designer boutique number near the Pere Lachaise cemetery. This was an introduction to a new area for us and once we’d got our bearings, and advise from the very helpful staff, found that it wasn’t too far from some of our favourite shopping locations.
The bedrooms are dark but very cool and very comfortable with these fabulous masks shading the bedside lights. The carpet designs reflect the sketchy, chalked on blackboard ceiling. The bar brasserie was swiftly filled with fashion fabulous crowd, even though it was Monday night. We think this might have quite a lot to do with the delicious cocktails (and the cute cocktail barman).
