London Fashion Week: September 2011

So, here we are again. Its been a fabulous London Fashion Week so far with some great energy and excitement around the event. I have never seen such a busy start with Somerset House looking rather hectic on Friday, and that’s even without many of the heavy hitters having made their way back from New York Fashion Week.

The style stakes were high with some really quite startling as well as chic looks being worn by the attendees and some completely beguilingly gorgeous collections being shown. We’ll be sharing our exhibition and streetstyle highlights with you over the next few days. We’re still working hard out and about at the events as LFW doesn’t finish until Tuesday but here’s a little intro insight for you. We’ll open the proceedings by simply saying this- London, you have surpassed yourself and we are incredibly proud.

Here’s a quick look at one of the streetstyle trends that we spotted at Somerset House- boys in full length, flowing skirts. Now this isn’t about boys dressing as girls in a high camp way. This was far more about boys embracing a new wardrobe choice. We blame it on Marc Jacobs and his recent penchant for a pencil skirt. Watch out fellas, the maxi skirt is coming your way…
