“Blink” Reports: ‘Jersey’

So, we started our week of showcasing our reports yesterday with the ‘Print’ report and so here we are on to our next title which is ‘Jersey’. I think this is what the Americans call ‘Cut and Sew’. Am I right in thinking that? Anyways, this is one of the reports where you get super hot season’s where lots of topical stuff is being done in jersey, and then you get periods where its all about underpinnings, simplistic shapes and more subtle innovation. We’ve been going through a couple of seasons now where the spotlight has firmly been on knitwear and soft wovens. This means that we have to work extra hard to ensure all of you jersey designers, buyers and manufacturers out there still have lots of inspiration and information about what to do with jersey, because it’s still a key element to most brands and collections.

Enjoy this wee peak inside the covers of the last report that we published, and remember that these are only a selection from the over 40 pages that made up the complete report. Blink Reports: Soft Wovens

Here we are with the last of our five monthly reports for you. This one is actually a favourite of ours. At “Blink” we love a slip of chiffon, something lovely in lace and a slinkly crepe de chine number. Well, who doesn’t! This is the report were you’ll find all of those things and much, much more.

For the uninitiated amongst you, ‘Soft Wovens’ is a category that covers, uhm, wovens that are, oh, soft! Its about almost tailored, semi structured or ultra soft styles in really wonderful textiles. Beautiful blouses, shift dresses, unstructured jackets, and voluminous trousers. That kind of thing! Its a department that has gone from grandmama to hot mama in a few short years, and we have been there to track its stellar progress.

These few introductory pages were followed by almost 40 more stuffed with fabulously inspirational product shots, with lots of close up details too. In total there are over 100 product shots in each report!

So, if you are looking for whats hot, exciting and innovative in the British fast fashion womenswear market, you have come to the right place. If you’d like to see any of the reports in full, then why not drop us an email or contact your nearest agent? We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Blink Inspiration: Utterly Frilling!

and another possible title was ‘The Hips don’t Lie!’ but we didn’t want Shakira getting litigious on our derrieres..

So, this month at retail, from high end to high street, we saw a flurry of frills, mainly focused around the hips creating a wonderfully curvaceous and voluminous silhouette. Some of the frills slipped from the hips to the hemline, and some others rose up to encompass the whole body. There were various techniques being deployed to create these tiers of fashion joy- from fur and feathers to more classic ruffles. Whether sculptural or soft, this is look we love.
