“Blink” Music: Grizzly Bear, ‘gun-shy’

We have featured Grizzly Bear before as one of our Music Monday posts. The video for that song was pretty weirdly wonderful. I think they have outdone themselves in the disturbingly weird category for the video of this song, ‘gun-shy’. If you’re of a weak constitution, I’d say maybe listen rather than watch…

Grizzly Bear exclusively premiered the new video for “gun-shy” via Tumblr at the end of January. This video is featured on the band’s newly launched page and in the Tumblr Radar section.

The band has also been confirmed for its biggest UK show to date, headlining and curating ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror festival on May 5th at London’s Alexandra Palace (Yeah Yeah Yeahs headline/curate May 4th). Also confirmed to play on May 5th are The Walkmen, Tortoise and I Break Horses, with more to be confirmed. I really love the graphics on the flyer, and it’s a great line up of innovative names.

“Blink” Music: Grizzly Bear, ‘Yet Again’

Thanks to Christian and Tracey for switching us on to this amazing four piece from Brooklyn. Grizzly Bear have been around since 2004, so we may be a bit slow on the uptake for these guys, but heck, it’s worth a share with you all for sure. Not only is this particular song beautifully haunting, liltingly lovely and supremely soul-soothing, the video is a treat too.

Produced by The Creators Project in partnership with Warp Records, the video was directed by Emily Kai Bock and shot in Toronto. We found this great behind the scenes video from the shoot that gives great insight into the concept and methods used to create this visually stunning, and slightly disturbing music video.
